Confirmed and restored "Waldo" middle name for both Ralph W. Thompson and his son Frank W. Thompson, triangulated from FamilySearch indexed records and davidjdortch's Ancestry tree (which I earlier wrongly dismissed as a false positive).
{
"note": "Earlier I rolled back the \"Frank Waldo\" finding from davidjdortch's tree based on the all-maternal-shared-matches pattern. That dismissal was wrong; davidjdortch IS a real 3rd-cousin via the Thompson line. The maternal-shared-matches pattern is small-cM noise, not evidence against the tree connection.",

}1900 US Census ingested as fresh-raft. MAJOR DISCOVERY: P. W. Thompson (paternal great-great-grandfather) was Irish-born. Plus: Ralph W. was a "Superintendent Agent Insurance," Marie A. born Dec 1858 PA, the family migrated Kentucky→Ohio mid-1890s (Kittredge born Ohio), and they were married 15 years as of June 1900 (first marriage c. 1885 — complicates the 1900 lucky-sparrow remarriage reading).

}Two architectural improvements deployed: (1) Added display_in_citations boolean to lineage_chapter_citations — citations with this flag false still link artifacts into the chapter's Artifacts grid but do not bloat the numbered Citations list. (2) Person pages now render a Related Artifacts section pulling artifacts cited in any chapter where the person is linked (subject/mention/context). Excludes the portrait, which is already shown at top.

}CORRECTION: Reversed the "stepmother" framing I had added on prior turn. Per Benjamin (May 2026), the more parsimonious reading is that Ralph W. Thompson and Marie A. Nielson married each other TWICE — they were married, had five children (1886–1895), divorced, and remarried on June 14, 1900 (the marriage record artifact lucky-sparrow). Marie's pre-1900 surname being already "Thompson" is consistent with this reading. The biological parent-child relationships between Marie and all five Thompson children (which the GEDCOM had recorded all along) are therefore correct. Ralph Ringgold's biological mother is Marie A. Nielson — no "unknown first wife" needs to be invented.

Nielson as STEPmother (not biological) of all 5 Thompson children; flagged biological mother of Ralph Ringgold and siblings as an open question. }CORRECTION: Earlier AUTHORIAL paragraph falsely claimed the GEDCOM had only Jack Jr. and that the obituary surfaced three new branches. All four children (Kathie, Vanessa, Paul, Skip) and their spouses were in the GEDCOM and linked to Jack Sr. all along. The chapter has been corrected; the new paragraph documents the verified relationships and the Thompson↔Hofmann marriage of 1970 that produced Benjamin Thompson.

}Replaced first-draft prose with sourced version. Earlier draft contained literary flourishes not supported by records (specific phrasing such as 'born twelve blocks away', incorrect claim that Jack outlived Virginia, speculative reference to a great-granddaughter). New version uses paragraph kind tags and numbered citations.
