Lineage

For the next generation

Two family books, written down.

This is a record kept for the children who will carry these names — for Lara, for cousins who are not yet old enough to ask, for the nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic. Two books: the family Benjamin's father came from, and the family Fernanda was born into. The stories are not ordered by importance; they are ordered so that they can be read.

Beneath each book is a directory of every named person we know — 880 names so far, sixteen generations deep. The directory is the index at the back. The books are the front.

A note on what's gated and what isn'tThe chapters and the names of people no longer living are public. Photographs and details about living children of this family are kept behind a family login, which we'll add once we have photographs to gate. Until then everything visible is everything we have.

The directory
